Class Descriptions 课程介绍

This intro to lyrical dance is designed for intermediate dance students who are ready to express strong emotions with dance style that blends ballet and Jazz dance. The music used for lyrical dance may consist of many genres including pop, rock and hip hop. Powerful, expressive songs are often used in lyrical dance to give dancers a chance to express a range of strong emotions through their dancing.

Dancers will learn to move with fluidity and grace which project intensity through clean dance techniques: continuous turns, soaring leaps and exceptional balance in multiple positions.

Jazz draws its roots from the African American vernacular and in the 1950s expanded to popular social dances. In the mid 20th century, Jazz dance took on Carribean influences and became a performing art with a strong center of ballet technique. Styles of this dance technique range from Broadway Jazz to Contemporary. Basic class recommended for students with no prior experience.

Musical Theater

Musical Theater is a dance class focused on choreography from Broadway musicals, and integrates many styles of jazz as well as acting. Recommended for dancers and performers at Beginning/Intermediate level in ballet and jazz.
